The history of Lothar El Kaloffi
Born as the eight child, and being the only boy in the family, the coming of Lothar brought much joy to the parents, especially for the father of Lothar. The tribe Kaloffi celebrated his birth for 3 days, and many members of the tribe thought that maybe now, things would become normal for his family.
His family could not be considered a normal one. His father was seen as an odd character, spending most of his time in the desert, leaving his mother to take care of the household. His father claimed to be an inventor, working of the most important invention of the whole Arabian State. Nobody believed a word he said though, and laughed in their sleeves every time he would venture in the desert with his cart full of junk.
Lothar’s birth didn't change anything however. His father even went into the desert more often, mumbling that he had to double his efforts now that he had a son. As a kid, Lothar was picked on a lot in school. Kids often made fun of him, mocking him and teasing him for being the son of the crazy tribesman. This infuriated him, and he would start fights on a regular basis. Time and again, he got caught and was punished by his teachers. He quickly became the schoolyard bully and had no real friends. He tried to talk to his father about his problems at school, but the few times he got to see his father, he was always too busy with his invention and paid no heed to his son. Life was hard and lonely for young Lothar, and he came to despise, and even hate his father.
Every year, during the summer months, the tribe would settled down near a town. Most of the tribesmen hated this period, but not Lothar. As a young man, he often ventured into the town at night. In towns and cities, where nobody knew him, he could be who he wanted. Nobody made fool of him here, and those who did would soon regret their actions. He would hang around bars and just wander the streets, looking for entertainment and thrills.

In towns and cities, where nobody knew him, he could be who he wanted. Nobody made fool of him here, and those who did would soon regret their actions. He would hang around bars and just wander the streets, looking for entertainment and thrills.
One night in the summertime, when the tribe was settled just outside the city of Al-Haikk, his father came back from the desert, and proclaimed ‘he did it’. He wouldn't say exactly what he made, but he told Lothar they would be famous, and that his invention would change the world. The following days, his father went into town, and demanded a hearing with the Sultan himself. Lothar didn't like all the attention his father drew to himself, certainly not when he started picking up rumours in town about an invention worth a whole lot of money. He tried to warn his father, but he didn't take the treat serious, saying that the Sultan surely would protect him. Unfortunately, that was not the case…
Two weeks after the meeting with the Sultan, his father told Lothar he could come with him to the desert, and carry his invention to the city, where it would be handed over to the Sultan. During the trip, his father explained that his invention, his machine actually, would create drinkable water out of thin air! Lothar didn't believe his father, but if the invention worked, that would indeed be the most important invention in the history of Arabia. They arrived at the cave where is father had hidden his invention, and Lothar intently observed his father when he put the machine together. He wasn't the only one though… Shortly after the machine was up and running, they were ambushed by five cloaked men from across the Great See. Before Lothar could act, he was stung by a dart, and his vision became blurry and he sunk into unconsciousness. All he could remember was the strange accent the men spoke, an accent he later found out to be typically from Altdorf. He last thing he heard was a giggling voice, saying he would soon die from the poison.
But he didn't die. In his struggle for life and revenge, a glowing hammer shone above him, and he knew without hearing a word that he would live to take his revenge. When he woke, the invention was gone, and his father was dead. He barely managed to return to the encampment and found out that his whole family had been murdered in their sleep. He swore revenge, on the name of his family, and his new found religion : Sigmar.
Lothar used up all the money he had for the passage to the empire in his search for the assassins of his family. His life’s quest had just begun…
