Conclusion
With the immediate threat to Middenheim dealt with, the adventurers return to the city of the White Wolf. According to Mandred, who gazed the stars, the heroes have about a month before "something" will come on their path.
As saviors of the city, the Graf tells them they can keep the seal of Middenheim and join one of the two Knightly orders: the Knights Panther of the Knights of the White Wolf. Shockingly, most heroes decline as it presents a conflict of interests to their (sometimes dubious) morals.
Each of them finally has some free time which is spent learning a new trade and fortifying their positions.
Abel, organises the criminal elements as the new Man. He assigns Jacob Schnellgeist as his right hand man and Felix as his bodyguard. He sends out spies to track down weaknesses in mr. Gouda's organisation. He also sends a letter to Princess Katarina Totbringer, excusing himself for his deception and assuring his feelings for her are real. Furthermore, he renews his ties with the Altdorf Thieves Guild, informing them what happened and seeking help against the coming conflict with Mr. Gouda. He joins Otfried on a visit to Mr Shnittensneider with an offer he can't refuse: The Man wants Shnittensneider to become the new head of the Komission of Commerce, Trade and Taxation as well as head of the Merchant Guild. A position previously held by Gotthard Geubels (aka: Gotfried von Wittgenstein). Herr Snittensneider is reluctant as he fears for his independence. It's only after Abel assures that he will not try to influence him that the tailor/spy agrees on one condition: Mr. Gouda and his organisation must be eradicated.
Felix, trains to become a Master Thief, he runs the roofs of Middenheim with the crew of the Man. He also visits a contact from Jokoff who is rumoured to be an expert alchymist. Yoritomo Kanbe hails from Nippon and specialises in serveral types of bombs; poison, blinding, smoke or a combination thereof can be bought for a considerable amount of gold. He also spends his time with Jokoff Schnellgeist, spying on Mr. Gouda's operations.
Gotrak heads for the temple of Grugni, where he finds about ten dwarfs who have taken the slayer vow. They explain that their shame of their inaction has caused them to take it and they look to Gotrak to lead them. After he sends them to slay a Rat Ogre under the city, he leaves for Karak Kadrin, a.k.a. Slayer's Keep, to renew his oath and carve his name in its pillars. There he encounters the Slayer King: Ungrim Ironfist. After speaking of the past events and the signs of the End Times, Gotrak inquires what he can do but he is reinforced in his beliefs as the king commands him to slay more demons.
Lothar, seeks out the remaining Arabians, who want him to become the new Emmisary of Arabia. To which he agrees. He spends most of his time training with former champion Smiedehammer and with the soldiers of Middenheim.
Mandred, meditates and performs rituals on his wizard's staff, unlocking secrets within it. At first he is dismayed but soon learns he unlocked new spells that are powerful and unique. He also devises a plan to setup a spy network using prostitutes. He discusses the details at great lenght with Fritz and toghether, they come up with a sound buisnissplan to serve as front for the spy network. It's implemation ofcourse will cost time and money.
Otfried, prepares to walk the path of Witch Hunter, he orders some special tailor made retractable crossbow pistols with Bulgor, the Dwarf smith, for a hefty fee.
He has a good chat with Fritz, who decides to remain in Middenheim. He visits Ar Ulric as well, who announced that after the ordeal, he would step down as head of the Church of Ulric. Otfried convinces him not to do so for the good of the city. His leaving might create a power vaccuum that's more trouble than it's worth. He pays a visit to the cult of Skavenslayers and is warned about a perception that exists among high placed priests that he could be a heretic.

Dilemma of the lesser evil
During their investigations, the heroes have discovered two more threats to the city: the problem with Klaus Gurtelrose and the Beastmen in the forest, and the Skaven threat beneath the city.
However, time constraints allow the heroes only to tackle one of these two problems as they still have to get rid of Mr. Gouda.
After a long and arduous discussion, the crew decides to head to the Drakwald forest, in search of the Necromancer Klaus Gutrelrose. Before they head out, they warn the officials about the Skaven in the sewers. A new type of city watch is introduced: The Sewer Jacks, who will patrol the sewers and help the skavenslayer cult.
The heroes head to the forest, taking with them a small army.
They return to the place where they found the corpse mound and the trapped entrance to the Faushlag. With the soldiers outside securing the perimeter, the adventurers head into the darkness...

GM note:
At this point we will take a break from the adventure as we have been asked to do some playtesting for a new upcoming RPG.
We will return in a couple of months...
